URBANJetSetTHE URBAN MAVEN @ THE Long Beach JAZZ FESTIVAL!! UMTV’s Anika hosted the BMA stage at the Long Beach Jazz Festival. The BMA stage (Black Music America) was a new addition to the festival celebrating its 20th anniversary. Headliners included Dianne Schurr, Leela James, Jody Watley and Soul Express to name a few.
This was a great opportunity to introduce the URBAN MAVEN brand to the Los Angeles market,” says UMTV producer & host, ANIKA ROBBINS. It was especially special for me with the opportunity to introduce one of my favorite bands, JOTO.
JOTO is the Minneapolis-based afro Latin inspired jazz ensemble who headlined the BMA stage. The group consists of Wallace Hill, percussionists, Serge Akou, bass, Lawrence Waddell, keys, Jeff Allen, Saxes & Stokley Williams on Drums. This also represented the first national outing for the ensemble.
